Fairwood Engineering Ltd was established in July 2000 and provides General and Precision Engineering services to a wide range of industries.

Fairwood Engineering pride themselves in the ability to deal with tasks quickly and efficiently and since its formation has successfully undertaken design and manufacture projects for the Aerospace, Automotive and Steel making industries with the emphasis being on machined parts, special purpose tooling, jigs and, fixtures.

Fairwood Engineering has the capability to design and manufacture complete projects and its policy is to offer each customer personal attention regardless of the size of the project.

Fairwood Engineering’s precision engineering workshop contains state of the art machinery and in-house CAD/CAM capabilities to provide a comprehensive facility which includes CNC Machines which use innovative programming systems including Pathtrace and Camtek.

The design and manufacture of tooling for a wide range of industries includes cable system pull test fixtures for the automotive industry, testing equipment for the electronic industry to body armour forming equipment for the MOD. With full time inspection and ISO 9001 2000 accreditation and all the technologies that a modern inspection department requires Fairwood Engineering are able to offer the customer a full inspection and quality package. Using our Co-ordinate measuring machine Fairwood Engineering are able to inspect components in 3D to customer specification thus providing inspection reports in confidence to customers if required.

Some examples of our capacity are detailed below:

CNC Milling / Conventional Milling

With 4 CNC milling machines to include Hurco and XYZ, and 9 conventional milling machines to include Ajax, Bridgeport and Jarbe we maximise our options of speed, bed and height sizes to ensure we are able to give the customer fast turnaround on small through to large volumes of work.

CNC Turning / Conventional Turning

With 4 CNC lathes to include Cincinnati, Harrison and XYZ and 4 Conventional lathes to include Colchester and Binns and Berry this allows our turning section to produce work of the highest quality.

Grinding

With our push towards quality our universal surface and cylindrical grinding section operate Jones and shipman grinding machines maintained to the highest standard to ensure constant accuracy in all materials.

Spark and Wire Erosion

Agie and Sodick machines allow all aspects of spark and wire erosion to be carried out to tolerances as fine as .002mm.
